ICC awards : Dhoni overlooked

The nominees were announced recently for the ICC awards in the Capital city today, out of the many nominees in several awards one name was missing. Yes, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He has not been nominated for the ‘Best One-day player of the year’. It was widely assumed by all that there is only one winner for the ‘Emerging player of the year’ award and that is the explosive batsmen/keeper Dhoni. But it was also assumed that he will win the player of the year too.
ICC had appointed a comitee of Waqar Younis, Sunil Gavaskar, Ian Healy, Arjuna Ranatunga and Allan Donald for this job. Dhoni has scored more than a thousand runs in the last year for India. All the comitee members have said they had him in their list, but when the list was officially announced he was nowhere to be found.

This should be interested and we shall wait for the ICC’s comments on this issue
